Plot
Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is a high school student who was bitten by a radioactive spider and gained superpowers. He uses his powers to fight crime as the superhero Spider-Man. Peter is struggling to balance his personal life with his superhero responsibilities. He is also dealing with the death of his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and the return of his childhood friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan).
Harry is now the CEO of Oscorp, the company that his father, Norman Osborn (Chris Cooper), founded. Harry is dying from a genetic disease and he is desperate to find a cure. He takes an experimental serum that enhances his strength and agility, but it also drives him insane. Harry becomes the Green Goblin and he vows to destroy Spider-Man.
Spider-Man must also face a new threat in the form of Electro (Jamie Foxx), a former Oscorp employee who becomes a powerful electric being after being struck by lightning. Electro is angry at Oscorp for not giving him the credit he deserves for his work, and he vows to destroy the company.
Spider-Man must use all of his powers to defeat Electro and the Green Goblin. He must also find a way to save Harry and to balance his personal life with his superhero responsibilities.
