The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The film is a reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise and stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. The film was directed by Marc Webb and written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent, and Steve Kloves. It is the first installment in The Amazing Spider-Man film series.
The film follows Peter Parker, a high school student who is bitten by a radioactive spider and gains superpowers. He uses his powers to fight crime and protect the city of New York from a variety of threats, including the Lizard, a giant reptile-like creature.
The Amazing Spider-Man was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $757 million worldwide against a production budget of $230 million. The film was praised for its performances, action sequences, and visual effects. It was also nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Visual Effects.
The Amazing Spider-Man was followed by two sequels, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (2018).
