Plot
Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) is a high school student who has been bitten by a radioactive spider and gained superpowers. He uses his powers to fight crime as the superhero Spider-Man. Peter is struggling to balance his personal life and his superhero duties. He is dating Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), but their relationship is strained by Peter's secret identity. Peter is also trying to find out more about his parents, who died when he was a child.
Peter's life becomes more complicated when he meets Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx), a lonely and unstable man who works as an electrical engineer at Oscorp. Max is accidentally transformed into the supervillain Electro after being struck by lightning. Electro blames Spider-Man for his transformation and seeks revenge.
Peter must also face the Rhino (Paul Giamatti), a Russian mobster who has been given a powerful suit of armor. The Rhino is hired by Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), the son of Norman Osborn, the founder of Oscorp. Harry is dying from a genetic disease and believes that Spider-Man's blood can save him.
Peter is outnumbered and outmatched by his enemies, but he must find a way to defeat them and save the city.
