The Dark Knight Returns
The Dark Knight Returns is a 1986 comic book miniseries written and illustrated by Frank Miller. The story is set in a dystopian future where Batman has come out of retirement to fight crime once again. The comic was a critical and commercial success, and it is considered to be one of the greatest Batman stories ever told.
The story begins with Batman, now in his 50s, being released from prison. He has been incarcerated for five years after being framed for the murder of Commissioner Gordon. Batman is determined to clear his name and return to his role as the protector of Gotham City.
