The Amazing Spider-Man
The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The film is a reboot of the Spider-Man film series and stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. The film was directed by Marc Webb and written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent, and Steve Kloves. It is the first installment in The Amazing Spider-Man film series.
The film follows Peter Parker, a high school student who is bitten by a radioactive spider and gains superpowers. He becomes Spider-Man and uses his powers to fight crime and protect the city of New York. The film also stars Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Peter's love interest, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors / The Lizard, Peter's former professor who becomes a giant lizard-like creature, and Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Peter's uncle.
The Amazing Spider-Man was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $757 million worldwide. It was the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2012. The film was praised for its performances, action sequences, and visual effects. It was also nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Visual Effects.
The Amazing Spider-Man was followed by a sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in 2014.
